Need some help. What reference has anyone used as their "bible" as to what is considered a common for these years. I e-mailed PSA from the link on the registry special with this question and got this reply from GKean:
"Here is the definition of a common card. A common card is a card that is not a rookie, semi-star or star card."
When I replied that I was aware of the definition of a common, but what do I reference to further define, my message was re-directed and I received this reply from MMcGinnis:
"If the card books for $20 or more consider them stars."
I'm scratching my head with the replies. Not trying to create waves here. I know the RC's and stars but the semi-star listings vary based on what publication you look at. I am somewhat perplexed, even kind of blown away by the second reply I received. My interest in the special would be to submit short print or low pop commons that would have a book exceeding $20 (why else send them in). So these are stars? I just don't want to have a cluster**** of a submission because I can't get clarity on the line between semi-stars and commons.
Appreciate insight from those who have submitted for this special.

Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

I use the "if it's not listed in the SMR, it's a common" theory. That way, only PSA has itself to blame.
Currently collecting.....your guess is as good as mine.
