Some Good news on Kile Carpenter

On Sunday I hear that he came out of the coma and spoke.First words out of his mouth was that he was hungry. His parents asked him what he wanted and he said Burger King.He has not spoken since but he is stable from what I'm to understand.

I guess when he gets better they will be moving him to Gaylord hospital which has one of the finest rehab facilities on this side of the country.

His parents plan on asking him to write to everyone here who wrote him when he is able to so be on the lookout for something from him if he has your addresses.I forwarded everyone that was sent my way.

I'll have more news down the road.

Thanks!

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?

Great news, Rob! And, Rob is 100% correct about Gaylord being a world-class rehab facility, so he will be getting the best of care.

    Thanks folks.

I'm to understand that his mother feels that by reading everything that everyone wrote to him has helped him speak for the first time.Everyday she read all of the cards and letters you sent and blames it for the pickup in his vital signs. And for the people who feel the need to want to write to him as it's been helping thanks to everyone here.

  • Did he get to see the Jeter ball? I would have been glad to help pay for it but it was already bought before i read your first post.

Please keep everyone updated on his condition.

Paul,I'm to understand he has seen all of the memorabilia everybody sent. They have his room decorated with it and the ball everyone chipped in for is at the end of his bed.

Plus there were a number of folks who went beyond sending anything to pay for the baseball. The extra money was given to the family and I made the suggestion to give it to the kid when he is up on his own to go buy whatever he wants but I'm not going to tell the family what to do with it.
