IN MEMORIUM: Dennis Gigeous

Recently our good friend Dennis Gigeous passed away suddenly at the age of 53 years old. We had known "Denny" since 1991. His passion for Morgans was only rivaled by the love he had for his family. At major shows he'd chat for hours with any dealer or collector who was willing to discuss dollars. His favorite coins were his DMPL's and his highlight coin was a 1893S $1 PCGS MS63 that's white and high end. Denny owned a small liquor store and worked hard. But during his lifetime he was able to amass one of the better complete Morgan Dollar Collections. His set is listed on the PCGS Registry under the name DWG. We are proud to have known and worked with Denny. The Morgan Dollar world lost a true friend.

I had known Denny for the last 4 or 5 years.
He emailed me all the time when he saw I had upgraded a coin.
His PL set is number one on top of mine.
He kept thinking I was going to catch him,but I always told him that was not going to happen.
He was always happy for me when I found a new gem for my set.
I am saddened to hear we lost Denny.

I saw him last in Baltimore, where we had a nice chat.
He looked very happy as always.

Thanks again to Legend for posting the official news earlier today,

    Denny, rest in peace.

I only had the opportunity to speak to you once or twice, but your knowledge was invaluable.

Total bummer. I have a friend that is slowly working on a PL/DMPL set. I've looked at the DWG set several times. I share Dennis's initals. I thought it was interesting, since I had thought about calling my set the DWG set at one time.

    Small world. Carpe diam.

    Will miss him.

I did not hear he was ill. What the heck happened?

I corresponded with DWG frequently in the past few months, and found him to be a great guy. I miss him. The hobby has lost a true lover of morgan dmpls. image
