What is the difference Between 1953 Bowman Color and B+W?

Why does it seem like there are plenty of the 1953 Bowman Color cards and the Black and White cards are scarcer? Is this true? If so, what is the reason behind that?

    Very informative page by brucemo on 1953 Bowman Color.

    By no means am I a pro on the nuances of the '53 Bowman sets, but it is my understanding that the B&W cards were released after the Color set and Bowman just plain ol' ran out of money to make the cards in color. It is also my understanding that they were indeed printed in smaller quantities than their color counterparts but nobody really cares because the Color set is so outstanding that they forget about the B&W cards.
