Idiot! It took me almost 90 seconds to find the coin in Krause - People's Republic of China 30 Yuan, Y#21(?!) - silver proof, mintage 20,000. Of course 75 of those seconds were spent getting Krause off the shelf and finding the People's Republic section

I've often wondered where the feedback comes from .... The British coins I've seen him put up are WAY out of line, overgraded by a mile AND overpriced (even if they were the grade he said).

His eBay auctions state that he is a "numismatic author", having contributed to Coin World, The Numismatist, CoinAge, etc. I would guess that the only thing he has written in any publication are little want ads in the classified section:
"selling a nice Japanese coin from the olympics. Also selling unsearched wheats (dates my choice)."

<< <i>satootoko, isn't it quite possible that Krause is wrong and Blue Moon is correct? Just because the coin has Chinese writing on it does not mean that it isn't a Japanese coin. >>
Gee, you may be right. After all, I am relying on the 30th Ed. for the catalog number. Maybe it's encrypted - Does "People's Republic of China" really mean "Great Japan", and is "30 Yuan" another name for "1 Yen"
