Strange email I got today

I got this strange email message:
From: motermanstan@charter.net

"Brandenburg 1678 this coin is for sale what would it bring."




I don't know who sent me this message and the coin doesn't look like a Brandenburg. Has anyone else gotten email like this?

I got the message too...he must have gotten my email from my web gallery link in my sig. I opened the mail through the back door because I didn't know who it was. It was promptly deleted...I suggest you do the same. S

I got it as an AllExperts question from a Stanley Peters: 'Brandenburg,Prussia 1678 i got this coin and its for sale i need to know whats is worth VF/super shape. When you reply i can send you a picture of it.'
I answered 'What diameter and denomination is the coin? My copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins, 17th century edition, only lists a small 6 pfennig coin and large 2/3 thaler and 1 thaler coins minted that year. A picture can be emailed to me. I'll be glad to try and help further if you can provide more details.'

It appears to be the Brandenburg-Prussia 1678 1 Thaler, KM-473.2, worth a few thousand if genuine.

Not my area, but I strongly suspect it's one of those modern repros the Germans have been wont to issue in recent decades.
