1982 Variation/wrongback ?

This past week I opened a few wax packs in a moment of boredom with a couple 1982 Topps packs being among them. Of course I was hoping for a Ripken RC, no luck there. Today I took the cards I'd opened to see if any of them could upgrade cards in my set. I put them in numerical order paying no attention to the names , then flipped to the first card in my album which I had in the pile #63 Dave Stapleton........I did a double take as Mario Soto was filling that slot in my album. Figuring I'd just placed the wrong card in that slot in the album I pulled it out & sure enough 63 was the right number for Soto so I then flipped over the Stapleton card in my pile to find the back was indeed #63 Soto...wrongback !
I know I've seen wrongback cards discussed before and was wondering if this is a known error or not and if these wrongbacks hold any value? I'm actually pretty skeptical of the value part but one can hope.

Big dollars typically aren't involved in my experience, although I did get into a bit of a bidding war when a blank back version of the Molitor/Trammell rookie came up. These days I appear to be the only one pursuing them very hard and can usually get a Trammell for a buck or two.
