OT - Large Bronze Columbus Medal by Saint-Gaudens & Barber

I ran across one of these and was wondering if anyone has any additional info about it (number made, aprox. value et cetera).

The medal is about 76mm.

I know Askari has posted information on that medal here several times.
If I remember correctly the man behind Columbus is St. Gaudens self portrait.

They usually sell for about $150 in their presentation box...the price may be a little higher nowadays. There appears to be a solid supply of them out there though. I had one for a short period of time and sold it to Dan. I wasn't overly impressed with the piece once I had it in hand.

It does have the white metal presentation box, I guess that helps a bit.

Aethelred, the obv. is by St. Gaudens and the reverse is by Barber. In mint state, they tend to go for $150-$225 on eBay.
