For those interested, I just booked Homewood Studio Suites for the National for $25/night through Priceline. You may even be able to get it a little cheaper. The rooms are fine and come with a fully equipped kitchen. You have to make your own bed, but I assume that most can do this.

    What city is it in? How far from the IX?

    It's very close to the IX center if memory serves me [which is always questionable at my age! :-)]. Click on the airport area. Nothing is more than a few minutes away. I've stayed at a Homewood elsewhere and found them a good value.
