Counterfit Gretzky & Jordan Rookies

Can anyone tell from these scans if these look legit or not? Seems awfully fishy someone would be selling 2 of the most forged cards on the planet at the same time and provide such small scans.

Or does anyone know this seller? They have good feedback, but in looking at their other auctions they sold another Jordan rookie and another Gretzky rookie a couple weeks ago too. Also, most of the other scans are quite large, the ones of the gretzky and jordan are very small. I requested a larger scan of the front and back of the card, I'll bet I don't even get a response.

  • all lower case descriptions!!! mispelings!!! and a lot of exclamation marks!!!!!!

But seriously, he seems to have a lot of each and that is red-flag. His last 3 feedbacks are positive for these cards. Whenever, I'm skeptical about a listing I ask the seller questions like is it guaranteed to grade through PSA? I believe if you have that in writing and it isn't authentic you can contact your c/c and get your money back.

Like someone with a bunch of "mint" Jordan and Gretzky rookies would not bother to get them graded. A PSA 9 Jordan is only $950, or $6K for gem mint. Worth the trouble? Nah, just sell on eBay for a hundred bucks or so, what the heck. image

Well that's pretty much the stance I took, but I didn't want to jump out of the gates screaming "FAKE!" It's quite obvious they're fakes, but I wanted to start the thread and let everyone else post their thoughts first. I also didn't want to get flamed just in case this seller is on these boards and has a great rep or something.... Ok, that wasn't probably going to happen but...

I did email the buyer of the last Jordan and sent him links on how to identify counterfeit Jordan's. Maybe he'll forward a nice large scan to me. Jordan's are very easy to tell, I have a bit harder time with the topps/opc Gretzky's. But I Have the articles for both that I carry with me to shows in case I find a good buy on one. I am actually looking for both next weekend in KC. Probably have to chase graded ones though just to be sure.

    Anyways, thanks for the feedback.

looking at the card with mag. glass it looks ok but i think it's a fake. just glad to get it paid $234.00 for it i got one more coming from a diff. seller hope its real. I bought it 4-14-04 still dont have it. I filed a complant with pay-pal & the seller ask me to cancel my complant its was hurting them. I did and now looks like im stuck with 1 fake & will not get my other card. thanks

I've emailed this guy back and forth a couple of times now, he thinks he's screwed cuz he filed the complaint orignally. He said it pretty much looks like the counterfeit one in the beckett article and it matches a lot of the same characteristics. I hope he does something.
