Finally at 50

t201

Even though it is a very small set and low grade, I'm finally at 50% (with another not yet logged). They look great when you lay them out on the floor together............

    Congrat........!

(that's 50% of a "congratulations" - you get the rest when
    you finish the set!)

Kidding aside - nice set! I have the Cobb/Crawford in a
PSA 4 holder. I wish Cobb was on the front, but it's still
one of my favorite cards. It's cool to look at the stats, too.

Congratulations. I would love to be at 50% on a set like that.

    Congrats -
I'm collecting that set as well and I just
cracked 40% last week (haven't registered
the cards yet though). There's a highly priced
Cobb/Crawford card currently on eBay that
would fit nicely into your set if you haven't
yet seen it. Keep up the great work.

That really is a great looking set. I enjoyed the pictures....thank you.

  • Thanks for all the positive comments. I've really enjoyed collecting this thing so far and, in particular, really like getting to know these players a little bit better (even the scrubs).

Bill, I may wait "until the end" to pick up the Cobb. There were some other nice ones up on ebay this week, but I lost out on 5-6 of them (won the Clarke/Byrne).

Terrific set Gator. 50% is phenomenal with those cards. The pictures and comments are much appreciated!

    Nice job.

50% on any T-set is a real achievement.

You got the really tough one already- Dougherty/Lord- should be all downhill from here.
    The comments are great!

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • Nice job on a tough set. It is one of the few that I have really liked and never collected. Not even in raw form. I hope to join you someday, but first I must crush the remaining life out of a few more FB collectors.

T201 is a great set from a great year,1911, which also brought us T205's, T3 Turkey Red's and was even the last year of the T206's.
The T201 Mecca Double Folders also boasts of being the first cards that had the prior years stats on them.
LARRY - Good luck on your final 50%...jay
  • Jay, I've got a couple of the 4s and 5s logged, although I've been getting edged on bids by a single bidder in the past couple of weeks.
