Heritage Auction Prices!

I have been bidding on several dimes from the Kreuter Collection and the prices are UNBELIEVABLY high. I thought I was a lock on several of the dimes and I have been outbid. I am hanging on for dear life on the two I really want. Any comments?

I agree, the prices are very high on the Kreuter dimes. I bid on several of them and even though my bids were way over PCGS BV prices, I was outbid by a large margin. Kinda frustrating since some of the coins are not that rare. Oh well. imageimage

  • Look what happened on the Proof Walkers. Nearly 50K right now on the Proof 68 1936.

Who has the money to be doing all this high bidding? These high auction prices mystify me. I'm in the wrong profession. Anyone want to go 1/2s on a bank job? image

I am told the 1936 Proof Walker was a wonderful PR68 specimen and worthy of the roughly $75k the coin brought at auction tonight. Congrats to the winning bidder who is likely reading this thread, or will read it soon enough image

  • Well, I won one of the two I was really hoping for. I bid on 8 dimes and came away with one. Oh well, hopefully I will have other chances to aquire the two or three coins I need to upgrade.

I bid what I considered way high on a 3CN 1886 PR67CAM--and got run outta town.

I bid above guides on some Liberty $20 and got outbid (sniped, somehow) even before the Internet bidding was done. Where is the money coming from....better still, how do I get some of it.....for coin purchases only, of course.

  • Dick,

I hear that a 43-S Walker in 67 went for over $11,000 at the Heritage auction.
