Anyone ever thought of an all-encompasing Registry set?

has anyone ever thought of requesting an all encompasing Registry set? a set where there is no completion percentage, no GPA, and no goal. you could just add cards at will, which would automatically be added by either card year, or maybe alphabetically.
a few reasons why i think this would be an awesome idea.
1. it would cut down on the number of Registry sets. i know a ton of guys that just start a new set so they can show off the key cards they own, with no intention of pursuing the entire set.
2. it would give guys a chance to showcase their entire collection.
3. (i think this would be most beneficial) perhaps it could be used to showcase what we have available for trade. we could add scans, and let others search through our set to see if they need anything. i believe, if done correctly, it could provide an entirely new (and easy to use) trade site.
the only guidelines that i can think of is that your set could only include one sport. maybe there could be a special "collection showcase" or "cards for trade" section in each sport, and one for non-sports and "other" sports.
does anyone else think this would be a good idea?

I tried to request something like that (vaguely like it) but was told it wasn't possible from a programming standpoint. But that was over a year ago, maybe they can do it now. Wouldn't hurt to try.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
I made a formal request for a set like this to Joe Orlando... I have not heard back from him... I think it is a great idea and I'd love to see PSA do it!
Still haven't heard from them on it, I think it's a no go!!!

as for a computer program that could work with this set, all they would need to do is let you fill in the exact description on the PSA slip. the cert # would show the grade. i'm about 100% sure that it would be easier to do than an actual (weighted/gpa) Registry set
I've been thinking that a site that allows you to register any serial numbered card would be a great benefit to collectors. If the card has a serial number, be it from a slab flip, or printed on the card by the maker, it could be registered. That would allow collectors to zero in on cards that they otherwise might never find simply because the person who has it might not know anyone's looking for it. And it's another way to show off your collection, too.
