  • Nice card Kabir. Is the auto authentic? I'm assuming it is, but are you going to submit it to PSA/DNA for verification?

Kabir, do you know why this comes with a certification from psa/dna as oppesed to being holdered and encapsulated? just curious. thanks
  • I think the person didn't know about PSA/DNA or didn't want it graded it could be anything...regardless I will be getting it slabbed as soon as I get it for protection.

    Cert #B57423 was authenticated march 9, 2004.

I have not seen any cards, on ebay, authenticated at the old $50 level since the grading special was introduced last year. Seems odd the owner would spend the extra $30, but maybe he wanted the 81/2 x 11 COA.

Kabir, it looks like Schr1st's snipe cost you about $90. You both have good taste. I would have bid but my priorities are changing. Good luck with the grading the card doesn't look to be trimmed or bleached. I think it will pass.

Actually, Kabir's bid was the only one that met the reserve. My maximum was $389 (silly me, I should have made it an odd # over $390, but oh well), but that bid didn't make reserve (it only raised the bidding to $305). I congratulated Kabir over on the Beckett board already, but congrats are in order here as well.

Are you still in the HOF game....we need all the collectors we can get....

Yes I am still collecting just not as aggressive.

My wife and I are expecting our first child any day now. imageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage

We've also finally found a building lot we can agree on and will most likely be homeowners by Dec. 1st

I am not selling my graded cards and plan to have a lot of my raw Football autographs graded by year end. Baseball autographs are getting tough. I'm at 45% and there are only a few realistic players that I can pick up regularly online. Getting to 65% should take at least 5 years.

  • Hey Kabir-

Thats a pretty cool card, lets hope that passes PSA/DNA and get slabbed. I know it has a certificate and all, but there must be a reason why it wasn't put in a holder. Thats a pretty cool card, Congrats!!!

  • Ullr-

Congrats!!! To you and your wife!

I know the excitement of having your child soon to come into the world!

My 1st born son Jeffrey was born last year and this Thursday he'll be 1 years old. image

I went and sold off my entire T206 collection of 166 cards last year thinking I'll need money for diapers, but it's wasn't that bad. After selling my collection, I found myself returning to collect the set once again. I guess I couldn't give them up so easily. As for this Autograph set I'm building, I figure I'll most likely pass it over to my son and we can collect the cards as a father and son team. How exciting you must be feeling, I'm over joyed for you and the misses.

  • Ullr,

Congrats on your first child and owning a home soon, you are right HOF collection will slow down a lot that is why if I find something that is not going to pop up a lot I will beg borrow and steal to win it image

Also I do hope it gets graded....

    Jery,

That is a very nice Wheat card....I am still holding out for his auto on a regular card but losing hope fast and might get one of those cuts auto.
