Help with Ike Question

I was telling Bubblehead about an Ike that was given to me. It's a 74-S Silver Proof. Bubbles said something about a "peg legged" Ike from 74 being special or something like that, but he wasn't sure of the significance, if any.....how about some help from you Ike buffs out there....thanks....oh, he said it was the "I" in LIBERTY...well, there is a distinct difference between the top of the "I" and bottom of it, does this sound like this peg leg?

  • Thank you.....I appreciate you taking time to respond. Your input has determined that it in not what I had hoped. Nevertheless, it is in its original case and has some great looking gold, purple, and blue tones....

The only proof found both with and without peg-legs (as far as has been documented) is the 71-S proof:

The peg-leg is less common than the serifed version, but by no means rare.

Similarly, the 71-S uncirculated has a peg-leg variety:

And in uncirculated the peg-leg IS quite scarce.
