    84%
collecting various PSA and SGC cards
  • About that Chad - I just don't know it - would be more like 65-70% chance because of centering. But in the grade it's in now, in that holder and that designation - it's going to hold or exceed it's current value down the road. GAI has made some strides recently.

Because of how it is now, it has a unique value to that sort of collector. Like your self -

  • Chad,
I agree with Jeremy. I have had numerous GAI crossovers rejected at PSA and all I believe due to marginal centering. At least it is something that is easily measured, but if it is close, I don't think it will make. I hope at least it is a high grade HOF otherwise the expense of trying to cross could siginifcantly eat into the pricing differential between the companies.

Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.

Just letting you know my attempts to crossover from global to psa are 0%........You know it is such a pain in the butt..SENDING...WAITING...RESULTS BEING POSTED......M/G...CRUSHED...ANGRY....UPSET....I believe that psa is just not in the same frame of mind as global...I will NEVER BUY ANYTHING and hope to crossover.....NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Wow PerkDog, if I had to guess, I'd say you've had some bad luck crossing.

I just think that GAI should be taken on it's own merits -

A high grade GAI 9 1st Graded is a unique item, maybe not yet on the same level as a PSA in the same grade, and maybe not quite crossable, but still unique and valuable. Jeremy

I sent in 3 cracked out from their holders, simply in raw form enclosed in Cardsavers, GAI cards, to PSA for grading......

    73 topps baseball all, a 7.5 was down to a PSA 7, an 8 stayed as a PSA 8, an 8.5 went up to a PSA 9.

Pretty close grades, all within a half point. One up , one down, one same, seems somewhat comparable to PSA standards overall. No large sample by any means, but no big problem either. If you can find a nice GAI card at a good price, it just might cross okay.

For sales, on the net, the scan and the detail verbage are probably most important in getting a price close to the typical PSA value.

This aint no party,... this aint no disco,.. this aint no fooling around.
  • My luck is very bad with that cross combo. Folks at PSA told me this past weekend that SGC crosses the best at a rate of approximately 80%.
