Help with an obscure medal

I was able to translate the legends, but this particular medal lacks clues, such as a date, an engraver, etc. Any ideas?

I saw this medal in one of the hundreds of catalogs I went through over the past several weeks but can't give you much more info than you probably already know...Vatican, Pope, etc...

I'm afraid I cannot add much more either. It certainly looks to be a contemporary issue from the papal reign of Pius V, which means ca. 1504-66. His birth name was Michael Ghisleri. I don't know enough about "papalology" to even guess what the reverse signifies other than perhaps that he was the pope who had the primary responsibility of implementing the reforms agreed to at the Council of Trent (which ran 1545-63). An excellent medal in any case!! image
