2001 Topps Archives Set Question/Problem

I recently purchased a 2001 Topps Archives Baseball Set on eBay that was advertised as complete (cards 1-450). However, upon checking it when I received it, the set was 17 cards short. I was very disappointed and e-mailed the seller and stated that 17 cards were missing. Most of these cards are either manager cards, or league leader cards.

The seller apologized and offered one of two options: (1) Issue a refund on what I consider to be the fair value of the missing cards, or (2) Issue a full refund.

I have checked eBay and noticed that most of the cards in the set are pretty hard to come by (Only 100+ cards listed). Most of the ones listed sell for about $1.00, excluding shipping. However, I have to take the time to research and complete the set, which is both fun and very time consuming.

What would you do? I'm inclined to take a partial refund, but what is fair? Also, where would be a good place to pick up these commons?

Thanks

I would ask for a total refund and find a complete set that won't be such a task. If you don't want to do that you should check the Beckett site and maybe you can find one seller with all the cards you need. This would save alot of s/h charges.

Even though Topps Archives was put out over 3 years ago it was a very popular set and you
probably wouldn't have to search hard to find people who have sinlges. I think I even do! Since the
set is so old you probably won't have much luck on ebay.
