Upper Deck Redemption Question - D'oh!

Alright, for the first time in my life I pulled a buy back auto.

1 small problem of course, it's from a box of 2000-01 SP Authentic Basketball I felt like opening today. It's only Michael Finley, but it is a buyback and I'm sure very short printed. The redemption expired 2/1/02!!! D'OH!

My question is, has anyone ever sent in an expired redemption card, particularly to Upper Deck? What have your results been?

I am going to call/email their customer service and see what I might be able to pull off, though I don't have my hopes up.

I dont know but they "irked" me on their 2K1 Golf. I can see not covering dings or scratches after a few years, but out of 3 boxes 120 cards looked like my 6 year old cut them. That is just poor QC.

Good luck. Let us know. I had heard that some of the companies were extending their "redemtion programs". My question is how much room do you need to store those cards in for 5, 7, 10 years? Is it really THAT many cards? Im thinking not.

  • Upper Deck hardly sends back redemptions for unexpired cards. If they send back a redemption for an expired card go buy a lotto ticket for yourself and one for me.

Mr Rookie is 100% correct, I am sorry to say. But, I would call them anyway (if you have a few hours of your life you want to waste on hold, that is!).

I pulled a Randy Moss auto ball card numberd to 25 from a pack of ovation a few years back. I called
them first to see if they had it and they said they did, and I got the card a few weeks later. call them
then if they say so send it (with proof of course)

Well, it's worth a try I suppose. I'll post whatever I find out. It's only Micheal Finley, but hey, it was my first buy back card. The funny thing I got sooo excited when I realized it was a buyback and I started reading "M..I...C...H...A...E...L..........." I was like Oh yeah! Then I realized it was a redemption and my heart sunk...then I realized it said "Finley" and I didn't know whether to be happy it was him cuz I probably won't see it anyway, or bummed cuz it was him and not Jordan. image

Ah the roller coaster of emotions that is sports card collection. image
