Opus 186 EMPEROR FRANZ-JOSEPH I OF AUSTRIA AND KING OF HUNGARY ( Kaiser Franz-Joseph’s Tod). 1916, Cast AE, 79.8mm, 162.8gm, Incuse punch at 6:00, Gussfr (as cast).

To commemorate his death on November 21,1916 Obverse: Uniformed bust, left. Reverse, Mourning double eagle, crucifix on orb, 21 NOV. 1916.

I had to include a larger image of the reverse due to it's beautiful design and state of preservation. The medal condition is considered "Gussfrisch" or, as cast, and it is a beauty.

I will add these after I get the additional thirty or forty needed images done from my pre-europe cache....A lot of work, but I'm finding that the scanner does as well, if not better, than photographing. The only difference is that these are larger file sizes. In the short term they'll have to do.
