I don't believe there's anything left after finding your dream card in the highest grade slabbed. The road ahead runs downhill. You'll stop sleeping, grow grouchy and develop a drinking problem. It's inevitable. It happened to me. What ever became of Sir Percival after he found the Holy Grail? Those guys that bowl 300 on televised events often commit ritual Sepuku hours after their big moment. There's nothing to act as your North Star except for the Northstar system in your Cadillac. I'd make a bold play for the girl in the Pirates of the Carribean. If she doesn't want anything to do with you, grow a beard and set off to find Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat. You must cleanse yourself with an act of historical importance before this existence will ever hold value again. Sit by a river and meditate on it. Or, set the card adrift on fire like a Viking funeral. The card doesn't matter. It was the quest. Play end reprise of "Camelot" here.

"Where once it never rained until the sundown.
By eight a.m. the morning fog had flown.
    Don't let it be forgot,
that once there was a spot
where happy ever after was known as Camelot"

Apparently, I've gone g.a.y. and incoherent since I got my 1958 Hires Mays in a PSA 8.

    Best,

    S.
  • thanks scumbi, for giving my life new clarity of purpose.

i'm starting with the kennedy assassination, then moving onto the
fdr's role in the pearl harbor bombing, then the truth behind crop circles.
all while dreaming of sitting and mediating by a river after having carnal
knowledge of the girl in the Pirates of the Carribean after a successful
( remember this is a dream ) bold play for her affection.

but first i have to take out the garbage and mow the lawn.

Scumbi - he needs a song to celebrate with first.
    I suggest this.

    This is the moment!
    This is the day,
When I send all my doubts and demons
    On their way!

    Every endeavor,
    I have made - ever -
    Is coming into play,
Is here and now - today!

    This is the moment,
    This is the time,
When the momentum and the moment
    Are in rhyme!

    Give me this moment -
    This precious chance -
    I'll gather up my past
And make some sense at last!

    This is the moment,
    When all I've done -
    All the dreaming,
    Scheming and screaming,
    Become one!

    This is the day -
    See it sparkle and shine,
    When all I've lived for
    Becomes mine!

    For all these years,
    I've faced the world alone,
And now the time has come
    To prove to them
I've made it on my own!

    This is the moment -
    My final test -
    Destiny beckoned,
    I never reckoned,
    Second Best!

    I won't look down,
    I must not fall!
    This is the moment,
The sweetest moment of them all!

    This is the moment!
    Damn all the odds!
    This day, or never,
    I'll sit forever
    With the gods!

    When I look back,
    I will always recall,
    Moment for moment,
    This was the moment,
    The greatest moment
    Of them all!

Oh, and vinny, now you can start looking to slab this card in an even higher grade (and count 7(OC) as higher). Until you get it in a PSA 10, you have a quest. image

BTW, for anyone wondering, the song lyrics were "This Is the Moment" from Jekyll/HYDE.

Scumbi - also, when can we expect the Viking funeral for that Mays?
I'll show up in my best horned helmet.
