I received my NGC PF 70 CAMEO today

When I saw the 1999-P Yellowstone $1 PF70 CAMEO on my submission results I called and asked if they could look at the coin and verify that it should be a 70 Ultra Cameo, which would make more sense (not that there aren't 70 CAM's)
The rep said "NO, they would not have made that mistake."
So I get it today and it's a very deep cameo. There are only 2 CAMEO Yellowstones at NGC and they are both 68's. This coin is a pop 0 at PCGS and a pop 20 at NGC (once I get it in a UCAM holder)
So I guess I get to send it back for the UCAM designation ( I hope it gets to stay a 70)

Why does a 70 have to be UCAM or DCAM. There are PCGS PR70s that don't have either designation?
Nice coin though,
Michael
That should tell you something about how loose NGC can be with the ultra high grades. And how can a coin grade 70? It really can't when you think about it. No coin is literally and technically perfect.
But I'm glad you're enjoying the plastic shuffle game.
<< <i>I dunno....maybe its the pic, but it doesn't look UCAM to me. I'm not seeing enough frost.

I agree.
I agree, definately not enough frost. I own some NGC UCs and they have very contrasting frost with regard to the fields.
I also have a 1902 Barber Quarter with more frost than that Yellowstone and didn't even get the "Cam" from NGC.
Seattleslammer, in all fairness, PCGS also has quite a number of "70s" out there.
