Where should I look to buy shipwreck gold coins?

Nice to be back all. I missed ya guys.

I want to buy some shipwreck gold coins from the Brother Jonathan shipwreck or any other shipwreck of US gold in the 1800's. Where could I find some of these historic coins? I didn't know what to put in @ ebay. Should I look at ebay? When I was searching for gold coins I found this gold pirate bar for $90,000, (Nearly 100 grand ) If you scroll down there's a picture of some guy holding the bar in his teeth, another picture of the bar laying on uneven concrete. They sure don't take good care of it. It's worth a look: link

The same 'reputable' guys selling this gold bar are selling other gold coins among this

I don't know if Steinberg's deals in that sort of thing, but it might be worth an e-mail.

  • interesting looking gold bar. Not sure if I like the way it is being handled, though. Especially the shot where it is clenched between that guys teeth. image

The Brother Jonathan, Central America and SS Republic gold coins are pretty expensive -- they're certainly out of my price range -- and I would suspect you'd be better served buying some less expensive gold coins of similar types. You can still get a decent, low-mintage US $10 gold piece for about $250 -- that's what I would do.
