NEED INFO: 1943-S WALKER-BREEN #5200, "NO MONOGRAM"

I came across a 1943-S with no AAW on the reverse. (Very weak strike, but Unc.) Breen lists it as #5200. In Breen's book it is listed as "Presently rare. Only 6 known." My first question is...Is this something that has become a fairly common find, or is it still considered rare? My second question...Is this just a case of an overpolished die?

About the 1943-S Walker with the variety 106 "no" AW (Adolf Weinman) monogram missing is that it is not all that rare..... There are at least 15 other varieties attributed to the 1943-S Walker and none of them that I am aware of are major rarities.

I think it is tougher to get than most collectors think...however the varieties in the Walker series for some reason are not attracting much interest yet, however, that could change over time. I have the 1918-D without initials in AU53 and I am thrilled to own it. Is it scarce? perhaps...

That was possibly true in the 1950's when much of the book was compiled. And yes it is the result of an over polished die.
