    According to Anthony Swiatek: A total of 39,850. Thick (1/16")= 33,750 Thin(1/20")= 6,000 Matte proof = 100 Later, another 75 pieces were struck on a silver-plated copper-bronze planchet which was 1/4" thick.

Thanks, Veep. Any info on how many survive in MS?

My guess, and that's all that it is, is that most of them have survived and are in mint state. A few years ago, they seemed to be coming out of the woodwork. I'd bet that if you went to any of the large national shows, you'd be able to pick up a couple of dozen.

Surprisingly, only a few hundred have been certified by PCGS. I no longer have the NGC numbers, but cetification numbers are not really an accurate indicator anyway.
