Home Run Ball Switch.....something to think about.

What if you had caught a foul ball from Barry Bonds (or any other player for that matter) in the first inning of a game because you were not in your right seats, you had sneaked down to the closer seats near first base.

Now you get to your correct seats in right field and catch an historic Barry Bonds Home Run Ball.

Who is to say you can't switch balls and sell the foul ball as opposed to the real one. Who would know? Would you do it? Could it be done?

Wow, catching 2 balls from the same game. I think the odds dictate that you "couldn't" do it.

Though, some crook somewhere would probably try.

Does it really matter? Do you think you'd be able to tell the difference between the two by the time you got home? LOL!

  • you could just bring a used ball to the game with you

you catch Barry's #756 and do a quick switcheroo

But what would you do with the real home run ball after selling the fake? Surely the sell of the first (fake) ball would generate a lot of attention. And if you later tried to sell the real one later on, people would surely know the ball had already been sold earlier.

I caught a David Hulse home run ball. It's a 1/1, the only one he hit in the 1994 season. Bidding starts at $50,000,000 cash, or one early Picasso.

Just kidding, that is an interesting piece actually. Obscure to say the least. You should offer to sell it to him! image

typically the balls are marked...when milestones are foreseen. all the balls used during the mcgwire-sosa race a couple years ago were either dna'd or given numbered holograms in order to distinguish the money balls with the foul balls. i'd be willing to bet the landmark balls for bonds are marked too...we'd have to ask the lucky ba$tard that caught 660 and 661.
