It's the most expensive coin i've ever bought so far, cost me a whopping £525 ($950).

It is not an easy coin to find, but the other two are going to be more difficult to source, the 1693 with an upside down 3 and the dreaded 1694!

image I said, "Whoa no, William and Mary won't do, now"
Well, I did not think the girl could be so cruel
And I'm never going back to my old school

I like William and Mary (specially the 5 Guinea with elephant mint mark). image

    Cheers!

Admittedly i've been focusing even further back than the 17th and 18th centuries lately. I've been getting a few examples of coins from the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries.

These are really hard coins in any meaningful grade. They must have worn the main design from the coin with relatively brief circulation times.

One came up at a DNW sale about 6 months ago - and it was choice unc with original lustre - a real beauty. Went for almost £2k if I remember rightly. Estimate was around £750.

The 1694 is a nightmare - probably rarer than the inv. 3.

    Good coin.
