Columbus OH Coin Show May 20

I got a flyer for the Ohio State Numismatic Association Coin Show, and think I'll go (This will be my first show). I'm planning on taking the day off work Friday so I can be there the first day. Is the selection usually better the first day of a convention, or can I find pretty much the same stuff the second day? My thoughts are the dealers have already picked up the good stuff before Friday. Anyone else going to be there? Any tables I should target or avoid? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm still relatively new to coin collecting, and a little nervous.

No replies yet. Does that mean no one is going? Maybe I should rethink my plans and stay at home too. Nah! Just more coins for me!

By all means go. It's great fun and small shows are goood for getting your feet wet. If nothing else you'll get a feel for the way things operate. I'm sure you'll even end up purchasing something.

How many tables at the show?

This is supposed to be their first state show so I don't now how good it will be. (It gets a little confusing because this is the first show being put on by the Ohio State Numismatic Assoc, but there is another club that has been putting on a "State Show" for a couple of years now.) I hope to be there but at this point I don't know if I will be able to make it or not. If I do make it I will be there on Friday and Saturday.

bump since the show is getting closer.

I think I remember the flyer saying 160 tables. That sounds like a lot to me. Anyone else going? I'm thinking I may just do Saturday now.

Sounds good Gary. I've been getting a friend of mine into collecting also, and will try to get him to the show as well. I'll try and PM you as the show gets closer. I think Spaghetti Warehouse is across the road, perhaps lunch?

Well it turns out I can't get Friday off so I won't be able to attend which is a shame since there are a couple other Conder token people in the area. My father will be there though searching for Darkside material. Al Bolanger told him he just bought another world type coins collection and he will have it there for him to go through.
  • I found this listing on CoinWorld.com site. Is this the show?

dunno about that specific sponsor, but i have enjoyed attending numerous coin shows in columbus. terrific city, & a great venue for coins w/ a solid collecting base.
