Check this out I didn't know NGC did this

I've never seen this before. Maybe others have but it's a first for me to see an Ike graded right in the GSA holder.

I don't understand this. I can understand wanting to keep the GSA Morgans in the original case, but why these? Wasn't this the only way they were sold...therefore the "pedigree" is clear?

It makes EVERYONE happy. The guy who wants original mint packaging and the guy who wants someone else to tell him how nice his coin is.

  • Mine are looking just like that one. Starting to get that haze around the edges. Some look worse than others but I want to stop the hazing.

  • Geeeesh. Yuck. I like Ikes, but I really don't like the Brown Boxes. The remind me of the Brady Bunch pool room; fake wood paneling with bright red carpeting. Very 70's, not to mention bulky.

When NGC first started this I graded a bunch and haven't had much luck selling them. I think because most people don't know about it. I still have proof-69 ultra cameos I'd sell for $39 each. This guy got that for a proof-68 Cam.

Since the coins seem to haze so much, I wonder how much they may turn post-grading...

There is probably a good chance they WILL turn, but if you read the band on the holder you will find that it clearly says that this is NOT and NGC holder and that the NGC grading guarantees do not apply to it. So if it does turn in the holder you are out of luck.

By the way the GSA graded holders have the same denial of the NGC grading guarantee as well. So if they are resubmitted and are graded lower or if their condition deteriorates there is no compensation.

DCAMFranklin, Conder101 meant to say the GSA Morgans have the same disclaimer.
