My first official VAM, a 1921-D VAM 1-I

Has a nice little die break on the reverse. Thx goes to Wolf359... an XF, but still cool to me

I've always said, if I was to actively collect Morgans... my primary focus would be VAMs...

JrG: There's lots of opportunity to be had in becoming a VAM expert, and time is on your side! I like the types of VAMS where 50% of the coin is different than the standard coin like the 1878 (Rev '79), 1879-S (Rev '78) and the 1880-CC (Rev '78), and also the more obvious overdates like all of the 1880/79-CC's.

True... but I mean, my first VAM that can be distinguished from die pairs with no distinctive markings or with different die states...

Hi George,

Glad you received and liked the coin! Nice photos. BTW, that coin is in an ANACS slab. I did recently purchase a different VAM-1i from
another board member, so as not to confuse the two.
