I've got like 20 of these I've collected over the years. Several have the date on the shipping label, others are from the 5 packs and are just plain white boxes.
Based on the above info, I would be willing to bet that you have an 1882/3/4 coin, probably worth 1/3 of what you
paid for that sealed box
Someone posted that in 2004. Would that be true today ?
Considering the GSA sales took place in the 1970's, unless you bought during the 1979-80 bubble, I would think the coins should be up-or-flat since then, no ?
The previous time I posted a comment to this thread was 20 years ago. I am not dead but am now 70 and not in diapers when last time I was 50. I still have all my unopened GSA silver dollars in both the unopened inner white boxes as well as my unopened outer USPS mailing boxes from the 1970’s. I have been patient over 50 years now!

It occurred to me that those who waited to open them have kept them long enough there the OGP has a premium.
How many countless GSA dollars were cracked out years ago and the provenance lost.
I had some a few years ago. They do have a premium but it is small and I think tied to the possible quality of the coin not the packaging. You get very little premium, if any, for a coin with opened OGP which is more common.
I collected these 15 years ago and remember EBAY selling the just the COAs. I think the 82-84's were around $15-20, but there was 1 or 2 that were well over $50. Maybe the 78/85CC or 90/91. Guess folks didn't keep these COAs and then when the OGP and box became popular, folks were trying to put the package together again. Also low # COAs were marketed as if that meant something.

May his soul rest in peace
I would have opened it. It’s no fun to just look at a box and wonder what’s inside.
Even if it was a common date, but in high grade, I would’ve been happy.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Wow, he passed away recently.
Except it likely would sell for more sealed than open.
Then I definitely would have sold it long ago.

I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. It's just another form of VaultBox gambling (not coin collecting).
That said, it would be fun to hear what was in the package!
2004ish I was in some third world dump bringing some American freedom from the skies to people who didn’t want it.
I still have an unopened GSA package from GSAGuy. The date is on the shipping label.
Somebody's playing with Mr Peabodys way back machine!

How many of us will be in diapers twenty years after this thread is finished?

I am happier knowing the date but not yet knowing the grade. I have enough GSA silver dollars to play with

I wear diapers just so I don't have to get up so much 😆

I messaged jmcu12 and he replied! Back from the dead.
I asked him to give us an update!
If it is a white(ish) UNC CC….. you know where it came from.
