artest deserved to win. bowen is a dirty defender. anyone see that play when he sprained vince carter's ankle? he clearly put his leg out.

    Oh please, lol, the Carter thing was clearly an accident, and as for Bruce being a dirty player, just ask those in the division that play against him. He is a highly respected defender who plays the game within the rules, and drives opponents crazy because of it. How many times has Bowen been fined or suspended, unlike Artest??? Everyone knows he is a thug, but that seems to be what the NBA encourages these days....I hope we do meet in the Finals, that is where they can prove who is better, not in some alley.....

    And I still think Andrei Kirilenko should've been Defensive POY.

    Thats Bull. Look at the stats and it will show Big Ben should have got it again. Look Artest is a great player and the reason he got it is because he wined last year and the NBA didnt want to hear it this year

    Sorry Duncangal....the Carter thing was not an accident. VC got hurt twice against Bowen from dirty plays. Bowen is probably one of the most dirty players to play the game? Don't think so? Just look at this pic!

    i dont think Bowen is intentionally dirty, just such an intense defender it may come off like that when your player gets roughed up playing on him...ben wallace was not the only reason the pistons held teams to under 70, the whole team played great defense...i think bowen deserved it this year, even though an argument COULD be made for kirilenko

    This is so funny, lol, for years we have been labeled the "soft team", now all the sudden Bowen plays aggressive defense just like so many players out there do and he is labeled a dirty player. As I said before he hasn't been fined or suspended by the league, and his plays have been reviewed, so stop the whining, lol...You can't say the same about Artest, which is what this was about.

    No taker...he wasn't suspendid. As for the so called defence he played against Vince Carter....if everyone stuck their foot under a person when they were shooting like Bowen, players would be getting hurt every game. Bowen does what it takes to win...if it takes injuring the best player on the other team he will. I don't have any problem with the Spurs at all...just Bowen makes me sick. Show me another player who kicks another guy in the face.....that's the guy you want for defensive player of the year??!?! I would have gave the award to Ben Wallace ( 6'9 Player going up against guys over 7'0 every game)...but Artest would be the one guy I would give it to because he plays some great defence.
