Submision Delay

Anyone still waiting for last months registry special? I sent my submission in on Feb 28 from Boston. They received it in the first week of March. Psa posted as received on March 16. It is now 4/28 I still haven't received my grades. I emailed them yesterday morning, w/ no response as of yet. Is anyone else still waiting? This submission even using the 16th receive date is past 30 business days. What shall I expect from them? I thaught PSA doesn't miss many dates?

you will get it on the 35 th day from the date entered. I have some regurlar orders that were logged on march 19th , I hope they don't take the full 45 daysimage I have other orders to send out but have decided to hold off until they can get caught up and get back to better turnaround times.

    Derek:

I'm in the same boat. Sent on Feb. 26th from Cambridge - not entered until March 16. I'm sure it will hit very very soon (hopefully not a Rush job, nor a GoD job)
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Derek- Mine were entered 3/9 and I got my grades posted on 4/24. You should see your grades any day now.
I find when you usually stop checking, is when the grades show up.

As for receiving anything "extra" from PSA, forget it. It's 45 "Business" days. You are at 31 days as of today

  • Mine was logged on 3/30 and I don't expect results for a couple of more weeks.

My batch from that special was entered in on 3/12, posted a few days ago and I rec'd the registered package yesterday.
Although I was spoiled 3 or 4 months ago when I had 2 submissions that took 6 days each, I still remember 3 years ago
when submissions would regularly take 3 months from start to finish, with that said, 4-6 weeks from start to finish is still
OK. Hopefully the down time will be less for my current submissions...jay

I am still waiting for two invoices from the February $5 Special.

one delivered 2/26/04 logged in 3/1/04
    ..."No date specified"

one delivered 3/4/04 logged in 3/15/04
    ..."No date specified"

  • I wonder what the deal is in Newport Beach lately. My best guess is not enough graders and too many submissions. Things sure have slowed down a lot. Maybe its tough to find people who want to grade cards all day every day for the rate PSA is paying, I don't know. But it doesn't make a lot of business sense any way you look at it. Most people want their stuff graded and returned in a lot less than 30 or 45 days. I know -- pay the higher price ($15 per card) for quick turnaround. But I don't necessarily see that as a viable option for a lot of submitters, especially those who submit lots of non high dollar cards.

    Derek;

I sent a package out on 2/27... it was logged in on 3/13... should be done by 4/30... so I called CS last week for a staus check. Carol told me that the cards were not even close to the review process yet and that it may be several more weeks! image

She also told me that the $5 Special has no guaranteed turnaround time, but they try for 35 business days... I clearly won't get mine in that time frame...

Oh well, you pay the cheap price, you pay for it somewhere along the line I guess.

Scott, i think you are being a little harsh. They give us an awesome special and the submissions come out of the woodwork. If they didn't have the $5 special, things would be much faster. They should catch up in the next couple months and things should go back to normal. which would we be better off with , the $5 special or never having it. i think we all are glad to have had the $5 special. To put the slowdown in reference to the pay they give graders seems like a stretch my 2 cents
  • Today is the 29th working day of a 30-day non-sports submission. Im really hoping for grades soon. Ive been spoiled in the past as well and have never had one go this long. Its hard not to keep checking image.

  • Thanks everyone for responding. I am glad, I am not the onlyone waiting.
Sometimes you start thinking- Why are they taking so long? Did they lose my cards? Is the grader of death hovering over them at a grading table, drooling? Who knows- I am just glad I am not the only one.

KEITH - Is this the submission that you reported was graded today? If so "several weeks" flew by quickly image ...jay
  • Now, this is interesting ... After my last two submissions took about 2 weeks each just to get checked in (in late March) ... I sent two submissions in on Monday this week (one Economy and one Vintage Common), and already both have been checked in. Credit where credit is due.

Jay, one and the same! Go figure... Carol told me it would be quite a while before grades were ready. She even pointed out that it would miss the 35 day turnaround. Well, I was all set to deal with it and wham! I get an email yesterday that the cards are ready! Made my day I'm happy to say! I have another batch going on the vintage special tomorrow!

They must have read your previous (1:25 pm) post and got their arses in gear. Way to go, Scott! Wonder what kind of grades you'll get?image

LOL! Yeh, they probably said, "Go get this jackbag's boxes and send them directly to Darth Grader."
