Has any one else bought their '04 SAE Proof this morning?

Just got off the phone with the Mint, (after nearly 15 minutes on hold), and got my proof SAE's ordered for this year. Any one else taken the plunge yet?


BTW, does anyone think the run up in the price of silver earlier this year might effect the mintage of the '04 proof SAE's?

Nope but they sold out last year. Total mintage was high. I don't remember the exact number. I would expect this year to do that same particuliarly as the States quarter program sweeps new collectors into the hobby. They will pick up one of these SAEs also.

Nope, and I won't buying any. I don't buy overpriced bullion coins. It is just an ounce of silver.

Although I am sure there is pretty tight tolerances in the manufacture of these, I would rather buy one sight-seen rather than sight-unseen, even from the mint.

I will pick up a couple when they become available locally.

The silver price increase may increase demand (where's that wrong economics textbook?) but it will not affect the mintage. They'll make the same number and probably sell out by Father's Day regardless of it all.

Yep, just ordered a gazillion of 'em. In todays market (hell, even tomorrows market...) they will be easy to get your money out of them....

I got my ASE's and Sacs today also. The proof ASE's look great. Have not looked at the Sacs yet.

I think I remember reading in CW, that mintage on the PF ASE's is being raised to 850,000 this yr.

Have a subscription for three a year. One for me, one for the little neice and nephew. I get mine when they come. They have to wait for Santa to bring theirs!

That's correct. For as long as I can remember, the mintage was 750,000. I guess the reason for the increase is that last year was a sell out.
