Mysterious Shaq Auto/Card question. Need help

Anyone ever seen a 1995 UD Collectors Choice Shaquille O' Neal autographed card? I am looking for origin, and BV.

It's the base card, but it's autographed in blue sharpie on the front, and hand numbered 287/1995 on the back just below the Magic logo. It is card #339.

I don't know what it is from and I can't find anything about it. And considering there are supposedly 1995 of them in existence you would think they would show up on ebay more often and I have only seen the one I bought.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

this card doesn't exist, Classic owned exclusive rights to Shaq's autograph in 1995, there were NO
shaq autographs made then other than classic. If this is legit then it was done as some sort of
buy back, but I don't think UD even puts out Shaq, I think he is with topps only.

  • does it have an embossed seal? I believe those were put out by Scoreboard

Actually, ScoreBoard put out a set called ScoreBoard Autographed Basketball in 1997/98 which contained numerous cards signed by a number of different players . The set caused some controversy with the other manufacturers (UD, Fleer, Topps etc.) as ScoreBoard was using other companies cards (like the UDCC Shaq). Each card came with the ScoreBoard seal. To my knowledge there has never been a checklist of players who signed or how many of each card that was signed.

I don't know if there is a seal on it or any kind of embossing. I'll have to look. I sent upper deck an email and 2 pics of the card asking if they could tell me anything about it. The auto looks legit, but of course, that doesn't mean a whole lot. Seems if someone was going to forge one of these the 94/95 UD CC wouldn't be the first card I'd pick to do it on. It's a real beautiful card, but I got it cheap enough. I am glad to hear that Scoreboard put something out, that is the best explanation I've gotten from anyone so far. I'll post if/when I hear anything from UD.

It still seems odd to me that I've never seen one of these before and it's #'d/1995. That's what really made me suspicious.

    Thanks again for the help.
