Ok, here's the scoop. I do Civil War reenacting and I owe one of the guys some gold made during the war. He is just going to keep it in his pocket as a pocket piece to show everyone his real gold. As long as it is authentic, no one will care that it is whizzed/cleaned/etc. If the coin is just going back into "circulation" what difference does it make?
