Admission of guilt - I stole this from another forum.

But it was too cool not to steal it.

nice looking little nickel. Different than most hobo nickels I have seen. I like the dark background.

Interesting... how can you tell the difference between a "Classic" Hobo Nickel, and a "Modern" Hobo Nickel?

I like it. Does someone have it for sale?

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Quite different, and I think I like it image

Would be good if you could post a pic of the normal nickel beside that picture, in
approximately the same orientation. Whenever I see these, I like to see what
original design elements are left untouched, that they worked into the design.

I saw a modern carving recently on a Morgan. It was great. I think it went for over $600.

This Hobo Nickel sold on EBAY last month for $184.50. It was created by a modern artisian named Bob Shamey. Here is another nice one:

That's pretty cool, but I am almost certain it is a modern production.

I have several Hobo nickels in my reference collection, including one made on a counterfeit buffalo!

Those interested in the life and times of the Hobo might want to get of copy of Todd Depastino's book, CITIZEN HOBO. It has a picture of a hobo nickel on the dust jacket, along with pictures of a Hobo camp, and two gents riding the rails. I haven't got to read it yet, too many other books in line before it, but it sounds like it has the makings of a great book.
