quotes from MW on "Humility"
1-"I'm the only major dealer in the hobby who has the moral fortitude and confidence to write on a public forum that I have sent cards to a restoration company"
2-"The truth is that there are very few dealers in this hobby who still sell large quantities of high grade raw vintage cards and I'm one of them"
3-"My record in selling high-graded unaltered raw vintage cards is unmatched in the hobby"
4-"I've purchased some of the hobby's largest and most impressive collections over the past decade"
5-"-I've never been one to hide or obscure the truth"
I just dont get how some people might call him arrogant ! its silly!
Actually the whole world is wrong about him!
Some people have the nerve to go as far as to also call him rude.
Read the following quotes from him about the people who post on the PSA forums and see for yourself what a gentle guy MW really is.
1-"disaffected minions across the street "
2-"I honestly feel a great deal of pity for some PSA-only collectors and other members of the CU forum who have had one too many glasses of PSA kool aid."
3-"motley bunch of misfits"
4-"group of blissfully ignorant collectors"
5-" group of mentally starved syncopates"
6-"mind-numbing effects of the worthless rhetoric and subjugation to sublime ignorance"
7-"pitiable group of PSA-only collectors"
8-"simple minded like the ignorant group of PSA collectors across the street"
Clearly a nice, gentle man.

his continued posting is only making him appear more foolish and lose more credibility (as if this were possible).
not sure anyone has asked about his ungraded material. it is his graded material that appears to be in question.
as for his not obscuring or hiding the truth, his recent posts have not addressed many of the questions he was asked.
the only thing that he seems to be phenominal at is arguing and verbally attacking anyone who thinks differently than him.
glad he is not a psa dealer. only reason i bought a card from his is because i was too impatient to wait for it in a psa holder.
i am curious, did he really beat up a customer or are you guys making this up?
It's nice to see you back. I assume you've been busy filling out applications at the Golden Arches?
"Phin", 1888
Modernized for the current times:
Mikey at the Scissors
The outlook wasn't brilliant for the card to score a SGC nine;
The corners stood bent with chipping and a spot of wine.
And then when Schwartz crumbled first, and Mr. Mint did the same,
A card barber was called in to save the sordid game.
A straggling few didn't get up to go in despair. The rest
Clung to that hope which springs eternal in the human breast;
They thought if only Mikey could but get a scissor on that--
He'd score a SGC 96 smoothing the crease across last year's stat.
But Schwartz preceded Casey, as did also Mr. Mint,
And the former was a lulu and the latter was but some lint;
So upon that stricken anus pocked by fissures,
Wearing his finest polyester slacks, Mikey took out the golden scissors.
But Scwhartz let out the word, to the wonderment of all,
And Mint, the much despised actually found a PSA 5 Play Ball;
And when the dust had lifted, and the men saw what had occurred,
There was Greg and Mikey both singing like a canary bird.
Then from 5,000 posters and more there rose a wicked yell;
It rumbled through the Wisconsin, it woke up the denizens of hell;
It knocked upon the mountain and recoiled upon the flat,
For Mikey, mighty Mikey, was about to perform the act of a rat.
There was disease in Mikey's manner as he banged the crease with a spoon;
There was pride in Mikey's bearing and a smiling countenance on the goon.
And when, responding to Schwartz, he lightly swat that annoying flitting gnat,
No stranger to high end resorations, Mikey's wallet was going to get fat.
No thousand eyes were on him as he rubbed the card with Pert;
He even self-applauded when he wiped it clean on his shirt.
Then while the edges were being narrowed to a perfect 90 degree angle,
Defiance gleamed in Mikey's eye, and his steroid-shriveled balls began to dangle.
And now the cardboard little jewel hung drying in the air,
And Mikey stood a-watching it in haughty grandeur there.
Close by the sturdy birdbrain, the computer called to his head,--
"This is so my style. Another SGC 98," the lunatic said.
From the bedrooms filled with his parents, there went up a muffled roar,
Because Mikey was going to buy them a Cadillac with this his latest score.
"Kill him! Kill the vampire!" shouted some on the board from earlier days;
And it's likely they'd have killed him had not Mikey joined the muscle-building craze.
With a smile of evil clarity great Mikey's visage shone;
He stilled the rising cult; he bade the graders to detect the card he honed;
He signaled to the mailman, and once more his cards stock was made anew;
And Mikey loved it, and of course SGC said, "8.5 or a high end 92."
"Fraud!" cried the maddened thousands, and echo answered fraud;
But one scornful look from a customer and his yapping butt was floored.
We've seen his face grow stern and we've seen his muscles strain,
And they knew that Mikey wouldn't quit, but rather send cards over and over again.
Now, the sneer is gone from Mikey's lip, his teeth are clenched in hate;
He pounds with cruel violence his fist upon his mother's seder plate.
And now the little guys control the game, and now we can let him go,
And now the hobby is shattered by the force of Mikey's ego.
Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
But there is no joy in Cardville-- mighty Mikey has spoken out.
Scumbi- Very well written. I want to say that the poem is comical but I find unscrupulous behavior such as card doctoring to be vile.
Scumbi,
You truly have a knack for writing.

<< <i>No thousand eyes were on him as he rubbed the card with Pert; >>
I never thought I would see a reference to "Pert" on a hobby message board !!!
Anyways....this was from their website:
"Pert Plus always gives you the look you want."
<< <i>5-" group of mentally starved syncopates" >>
So we lack intelligence, but have good rhythm?
<< <i>It is all coming back to me know, the reason(s) I left my beloved hobby for almost 10 years. I won't let them disenchant me this time though. >>
Well said, WP. Too bad some people like MW forget that this is just card collecting...not nuclear physics.

i am only commenting on what i've read. merely an observer not a participant.
winpitcher,
best thing is to avoid the boards, not collecting. sometimes too much information is not a good thing. been reading this board for several months and it is very discouraging.

I couldn't have said it better ... And I'm not talking only about one person.
Actually I thought this thread was about the anonymous poster known as toppsgun. But then again, toppsgun wouldn't make a pimple on MW's ASSet.

Welcome back good sir.
Priceless! Thank you for sharing your satirical creative efforts...
MW's actions at this point is reminding me of Howard Dean's attempts to save face following his unravelling in Iowa... and with every additional anxiety-ridden keystroke, he is merely putting the future profits of his business in further peril!
I hope he still feels he's gotta lotta 'splainin to do! He'll be out of business inside a year! Plus, I personlly love his creative fiction writing skills!
Just for full disclosure I do not have any SGC cards and all of my cards are PSA. I do not submit cards for grading but buy them already graded. My private collection will never be confused with Marshall Fogel or David Hall's, but over the years I have owned some of the nicest cards in the hobby - 53 Mantle, '54 Aaron, '54 Williams #1 and 250, '56 Mantle, pair of '58 Mantle's, several '55 Williams and all of these cards were in PSA 8 or better. The dealers that I have bought and sold from have all been very cordial, and they have helped me in finding cards but even more so in educating me about the business. These dealers have made the hobby fun along with other collectors, but days like the past few with the negativity spewed by MW make people re-think how much money they are spending on cards for a hobby.
I will not buy cards from them now or at any point in the future, but the point I am making is that with their removing stains, restoring cards, and other things that probably are not stated I could end up with one of their "experiments" after it has passed through several hands and become slabbed. I think we need to take a strong look at what some are doing to this hobby since to me and I am sure others it is unethical, incorrect, and in some cases it could be illegal. People don't continually send cards to be restored for their amusement or to be put in a file drawer - they do this with the intent of making some serious $$ at the expense of you and me. Just my two cents.

How close is this to where Wentz was hatched? He may contain enough bacteria from space that would explain his inability to relate to Earthlings.
