When photographing a coin... (a hint)

Try not to have the camera lens so obviously in the reflection off of a highly reflective coin like a silver proof.
This confused the cr@p out of me for a minute until I figure out what the black moon behind the stag was.

  • imageimage Same thing goes for the red flashing LED for those timer shots, which I use for coin photos to keep my jittering fingers off the camera.
  • What I do here is either have a black or white card with a hole for the lens to show through and take the picture through that.

    Or use DH's angle technique and hold a piece of either white or black paper above the coin for it to reflect.
