BV or no BV

When listing on Ebay do you place "BV" or not? If so why, if not why not?

Thanks.

If the BV is overvalued than list the BV. If the card could go through the roof then do not list the BV.
  • Personally, when i bid I hate to see the BV listed. I know how much the card is worth to me, so I feel that putting the BV is worthless. There is so much crap out there that sells for WAY under BV anyways.

When I list auctions I feel it is unneccesary to list the BV, because others should know what it is worth to them as well.

So for my .02 Don't list it.
Move along folks.......Nothing to see here.

I agree with Felix. There are far too many auctions listed with book values that are inaccurate or irrelevant, so I dismiss them entirely and it is actually a negative in my opinion. You can accomplish what you want to get to by experimenting with starting price, reserve or BIN. Good luck.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
  • I'll go with Basilone's opinion, that's how I decide when listing, Jason
Baseball Card Heaven, the closest card shop to the Las Vegas Strip.

Our current ebay auctions, and of course BaseBallCardHeaven.com

I'll post BV only when listing a GROUP of cards (and sometimes, not even then); mainly because I know bidding will never reach the sum value of the parts and also to give bidders a sense of getting a deal.
