What % do you apply for PSA 1-4?

How do you apply a value for PSA 1-4s, e.g., is a PSA 4 75% of the PSA 5 price?

  • I believe you are asking this question in reference to a hockey card and I'm sure that the answer varies by sport, year, player, etc. but this is the average sales price (year-to-date on eBay) for 1969 Mickey Mantles:

    Average price, year-to date

    PSA 6: $145.75
    PSA 5: $108.00 (74.10% of 6)
    PSA 4: $ 79.50 (73.61% of 5)
    PSA 3: $ 47.75 (60.06% of 4)

    Thanks for the guideline, but what made you think I was referring to hockey?

  • I made the assumption because of your post on the trading board re: the GAI 2 1933 Goudey Lajoie.
  • That's a baseball card...okay, I'm lost. It's Friday.

  • Can I stop embarassing myself now? I hear a french name and I assume hockey. Next thing you'll tell me is that Honus Wagner didn't play football. image

    There's a percentage for each grade down to 1 given in the print SMR. I don't have one in front of me, but if you do, look at the first couple of pages before the prices start.

  • I usually read the feature story then chuck the issue. Thanks, I refer to the next issue.

    "SMR" suggests:
    PSA4 = 60-65% of PSA 5
    PSA3 = 65-75% of PSA 4
    PSA2 = 65-75% of PSA 3
    PSA1 = 65-75% of PSA 2
    Further qualified with additional legalise and caveats..
