  • Wow! Talk about bumping up your set registry quickly! Nice bunch of cards you got there. I'm slowly buying some of the modern autos on Ebay as well. Have you been buying these over time? I look forward to seeing your set once you get these in. Are you going to include pics of them all?

    OK:

    Date Received: 03/09/2004
    Date of Grades Posted: 04/23/2004

What tier did you submit them under? Is the Date received the date they "started" the review process? Grades posted is date the grading was completed?

    Thanks!

  • I started collecting HOF in second week of December and went on a buying spree, have over 100 already...Yes I will include pictures once I get the cards...that is the best part image

I used the $ 5 special to submit these cards they were under 35 days and I am very happy with that....at one Point this month PSA had 85+ of my cards now they only have 4 left, can't wait till I get those.

Date Recieved is when they logged the cards into their system, they got the cards delivered to them around 2-26, I think.
    Thanks

Question - there is another thread with some commentary/opinions that an auto may reduce the card one grade. What is your insight on this relative to your submission?

Kabir, also just curious as to why you didn't go the PSA/DNA route with this lot. Thanks.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
  • I'll answer for Kabir since I looked at the topic again. Manufacturer-issued autographed cards from 1998-present can be submitted through the standard PSA service thus you can take advantage of the Set Registry specials, as Kabir did.

But cant you take advantage of the "set registry special" anyway? Maybe I dont understand it that well. It says even if there is no regsitry just create one.

Can someone maybe explain the process and registry a little more........ thanks.

  • It's a matter of the cost of the grading/authentication. In order to get any pre-1998 autographed card (manufacturer-issued or otherwise) autenticated and graded, you pay $20/card. To get a manufacturer-issued autographed card from 1998-present graded (and also to make it eligible for the HOF Autograph Registry set), you only have to submit through the standard PSA exercise and thus can take advantage of any set registry special that is offered. I hope this makes sense...
