The reason everyone wouldnt join one website is.....

99% of you traders have gotten SO picky and SO hard to trade with, that its almost impossible to trade with anyone. You wanna offer your junk cards for someone's good cards...or trade 5 $20 cards for a $100 card.....you act like your cards are gold and that if someone wants to trade with you, they should feel VERY lucky. Then, you list cards for trade and put " VHT" beside 9 out of 10 of them....if your cards books 50 buks....then you should only ask for 50...not 60-70-80 or more just because its a design you like or you like how neat his auto was. You've gotten greedy as hell and have become a pain in the ass to be frank about it.Now i havent mentiones any names at all, but i'm pretty sure i'll end up with a pm or 2 from the greedy idiot that thinks he crap's gold...and believe me, i sure as hell welcome it,because people like you are ruining the hobby and are to greedy for your own good.If i ask you about a card and the thing books 30,and then you say " but its gonna be hard to get"....rest assured i'm not begging you for it,cuz i will just laugh in your face about it . Thats why everyone would never join one site, because all the ego's and greed could not exist on one board....now...bring on your ridiculous comments.

If there was no greed there would not be much of a hobby. If we all shared like we should you would never get that set finished because you would pull that one common card for someone who collected that player. eBay auctions wouldn't do very well if two bidders didn't go back and forth offering even more money that they offered 5 seconds ago. Then again I guess we are all very greedy spending all this money on cardboard when we all have neighbors in need. What do they really do for us, we look through a box once in a while for our enjoyment, we get them as investments and such. Heck our country is based on greed- we got 50& of our land for a trunk full of beads- I guess wanting something for nothing is in our blood. I guess it depends how ya look at it.

I don't think cardnyou is talking about that once-in-a-blue-moon card that is selling for over book. He's talking about all the people with $20 bv Kerry Wood jersey cards that sell for $2 and they want $30 in trade because it has a pinstripe or it was the first gu they ever pulled. Can't we go back to the days when people's tradelists listed the cards they had for trade??? Now, everyone's lists have "htg" "vhtg" "vvhtg" "nft" "probably nft" "nft unless it's in my favor" "bv $20+++". What's with all the people where half of their tradelist says NOT FOR TRADE. If it's not for trade don't even put it on the tradelist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the worst offenders has to be epag64, that dude's list has "htg" or "nft" or "+++" or asteriks by every card worth more than 50 cents.
What is wrong with "trade 5 $20 cards for a $100 card"? I mean the value is the same is it not? Maybe Im reading it wrong.
Anyho Im putting together my first trade with a board member. Does EVERYONE usually go $ for $? See you are not card TRADING when you do this you are card INVESTING. Unless of course it is of a player/team you like/want/need. Then people should be willing to get it at a loss in value.
I mean (Ive asked this B4) how much do you need to sell/trade a $100 card for when you bought it in a pack for $5, especially if you have no intrerest in that card?
Now me I have been buying lots for the sole purpose of making money/creating a business. Whats everyone else's excuse?
example
got offered 100 game used cards for a payton/kobe auto /15
was called a dick because the BV is 800 of the gu but I could buy elsewhere for about 100
they told me I was bad for the hobby because I wouldnt trade them MY card.
Hes right in alot that he said--just has to learn tact LOL

1. eBay being a guide. I do see Beckett listing some prices of cards that have sold on eBay
in there magazine. But I can't see how eBay can be any type of price guide. Right now as I
type out this message here, I could be missing something on eBay that I would have bought or
would have bid on to make the price higher. And that goes with the millons of other users
that are registered with eBay. They all can't be on at the same time, so they all could be
missing an aution they would have like to bid on and make the price go up. I've places
auctions on eBay myself and got no bids, and the 3rd time on, then I got some bids. You just
have to catch the right time and the right person/people to bid on your auctions.
2. Having a list of cards on the net that isn't for trade: I have my own web site as well,
with all my inserts listed, including all my game used, inserts, and autographed cards. I
actually just started to do my web site over and dumped all my scans since the web space was
starting to take a lot of room. But my site is mostly just for me so I have a list on-line
to know what cards I have. And I do also make a list of my extra cards and place then on my
Sale/Trade page. I can see your point about putting cards on a trade list that people have
no intension on trading away. But I don't see a problem with putting a list on the net of
cards that I have for others to see, even if they aren't for trade or sale.
3. Trading $BV for $BV. Now this is something I agree on. If you have a $100 card, and are
looking to trade it, I would like to receive something around the same price, as in another
$100 card. I wouldn't want to get a stack of someones $5 cards for my $100 card. So, in
trading, I would like book value for book value. Can't see wanting 10X the book value in
trade for something.
Well, hope you all have a good day.
agreed, Beckett is not 100% accurate and neither is ebay. Something might sell for $5 on ebay today and the same thing might get $35 tomorrow. Then there are the shilled auctions which sell for more, the people who put poor titles that make the card sell for less, etc. Although Beckett is not 100% it is constant.

I have a Fleer Glossy and listed it, then I thought about it for a few minutes and pulled it. I like money but I don't need it that bad to exploit a hero like that. If you sell his cards on eBay, the terrorist have won.
