My First 2001 Kennedy Roll...(big pic)
Well, the end coins looked pretty nice so I opened that puppy up. Probably not a Gem in the entire roll. That was to be expected but I did get a treat!

Over half of the coins have some degree of the same die crack on the obverse. I found 12 coins that the crack is easy to see with the eye. Some of the coins have the crack reaching from the rim all the way across the bottom of the trunk. Others have a crack that only protrudes slightly forward from the bottom edge of the trunk. Almost as if this was the run where the die began to give out?
Now do I pop open another???

That should have been my title line, "US MINT SELLS CRACK" online!

hehe good one
"I am looking through my bag right now. From what I've seen so far, it looks like the P's have been stored in a rock tumbler for the last 3 years"
I see that statement isn't far off.
Nice die crack.

The name is LEE!
I haven't had any luck with the uncirculated Kennedy rolls the last couple of years. Denver must use them on the floor like sawdust and then has square dances on them before they ship? The Nickels all look like they had a fight with Freddie Krueger and lost!
Here is another one from the same roll. Sorry the pics are not the best, my hands are bit shaky today.
The D roll looked decent, but the P roll was pretty banged up and baggy. Dbigkahuna says his bad roll was from Denver. I read another earlier post, where someone said their P roll--like mine--was particularly bad.
What did you other folks find?
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I'm not incouraged.
Dabigkahuna - I'd deffinately hang on to the run. Nice Set
