Ebay 'how to" feedback question

The "Feedback Forum: Leave Feedback" lists all the transactions that still require a postive, neutral or negative response. I don't want to choose from among those three choices, but want the items off my pending list. If I select "I will leave feedback later", the item remains on the list.

Related question: if I choose "neutral", can seller repsond, or can they only repsond to a negative?

They can respond to all three. At least I have seen response on all three types of feedback.

  • So I need to choose among the three choices - positive, neutral negative - or else the item remains there? The reason I ask is that a seller finally made good on a botched order after two months - poor grade card, wrong refund amount, second check not sent for quite sometime, etc. He does not warrant a positive, a neg is tempting, but a little harsh since he made good. A neutral seem appropriate, but don't want any feedback. I just want the feedback listing to go away.

I do not believe it will ever go away on its own.

It will go away. It disappears 90 days after auction closing date, also of note, after 30 days, using that Feedback tab in My Ebay is the only way to leave feedback if you don't have the link still, as all items disappear out of your myEbay tab after 30 days max.

Until 90 days after auction end.

  • Actually there is a way where feedback can be left for years. Not excatly how its done, but have seen it done before.. In general though after 90 days it will disappear off your pending feedback list

If you have the item # I believe the auctions are generally purged after 90 days, however, I have seen some last upwards of 120 days. If you have the item numer and the auction is still visible, then you can do a leave feedback from there, or if you have the userid, you can go to their feedback and click on "Leave Feedback For This User" However, I think that adheres to the 90 day rule.

Regardless, he was just trying see how he could get rid of it, not if they other guy could post a neg. I only know some of this stuff lasts because someone dropped a neg on me once at the 90 day mark and I couldn't leave feedback for them cuz the item wasn't in my list the next day. (90 days had lapsed)
