What would you do??

As most know, I have a complete set of 2000 SP Authentic with all 80 rookies PSA graded, I have 33/80 PSA 10's, 46/80 PSA 9's and one PSA 8. I had posted it on Ebay with no luck. I had decided to hold onto the set, not wanting to sell it. I have a $2000 offer for it. I'm torn, one hand it's decent money, on the other it's a great modern set. What would you do? Sell or keep.. Just looking for some ADVISE!

I have yet to complete a set that size but from what I hear, the fun is over when it is completed. If you are considering starting a new venture and need the cash then sell it. I have no idea as to what the set is worth or how much you put into it, so I do not know if 2K is a good number.

If the set is registered - retire it before you sell.

A $2K offer may sound like a lot, but not if you have $3K sunk into it. So that is the main concern when flipping over a set. What was your eBay opening bid on it? And perhaps many of the collectors of this set do not need the entire set, so selling off individual PSA cards may be more prudent too! ...jay
  • Chad- If you have a legit $2000 offer for the set- SELL IT! I just checked your set to see if the Brady was a 10 (it's a nine). Lets look at just average prices. The 33 PSA 10's would bring an average of $30-$40 per card. At $35 per PSA 10 your looking at $1155. The 46 PSA 9's on average would bring $15 per for $690 and that is probably on the generous side. Add an additional $300 premium for the Brady RC and you come up with $2145 potential if you sold them individually.
In my eyes the $145 "possible" gain (not including Ebay fees, paypal fees and your time to list the cards individually) is a small price to pay for a guaranteed $2000.

This is an easy question with LOTS of answers.

    If you:
Need the money and need it now you sell.
Need the money but not right away you "shop around" more.
Do not need the money but just want to sell you can wait or sell.
If you put a lot of work into it and you dont need to sell you keep it.
If you put a lot of work into it and NEED to sell you "shop around" a little more.

Its all about time and need. Personally I would "sock" them away in a safe and forget I ever had them. Save em for a rainy day. Unless of course I needed the money...... image

    ***EDIT***
And upgrade that 8 to at least a 9.....
