He who owns his own card company can set his own price.

Check out this guys auction, he's got 11 pages of cards and they are all graded gem-mint 10's I don't see, any 9's or 8's that he's selling, checking his feedback, he's only selling 10's.

GEM-MINT 10's

My question is, how hard is it to set up your own card company. Like this person does and sell only 10's on ebay. I'm sure he's making a killing. I'm sure if you do a cross over with PSA alot of the cards will be 7's and 8's. But who cares. People only want 10's right?

Anyone have any info on how to obtain a slabbing machine and a ton slabs to grade your own stuff?

This might be some useful information to have later.

Seems like theres a new card company every month....hmmmm.

    Here:

Can you give me a little more information on the company that grades these two cards please. Like a website and the serial numbers if availiable.

    Thanks.

Lets see how he will respond.

The problem lies in the "casing" being sold to anyone that can pay for them. I mean how hard is it to "glue" the case together after printing a label?

    ***EDIT***
Could of sworn I had seen those (grading slabs) for sale somewhere.......

From what he's showing, they're all SPA cards. SPA graded.....I have no idea who they are. I always see these holders for SI for kids, or promo type cards, or those Chinese Yo Ming cards.

As far as starting up your own basement grading operation....it's not that hard. From the idiots I've talked to, don't do like those idots (Pro Choice Grading, NASA, All-Star Grading) which use 4 screw down holders and replace the screws with divets that are sodded on, etc.

A real sound wave encapsulation machine will run you $15,000. Find a plastic supplier that will manufacture the size you want and cater to the design of the holder for your machine and you're good to go. Labels are easy.....you can pump all that out on a color printer and the magic of templates.

Send all your cards to me...... it's called PIG (Plain Intuitive Guessing)

The problem with finding a plastic supplier is that you'll have to pay to have two molds made, which I believe starts at around 15 grand per mold.

As far as idiots defrauding the public goes, here's one that I'm surprised we haven't seen yet:

Idiot buys his own hermetic sealer. Idiot breaks a PSA slab and has a mold injection shop produce two thousand pieces of both the front and the back. Idiot then sends high grade card to PSA over and over (ala WIWAG), cracks it out, takes the flip, puts the flip in his fraudulent holder and inserts a nmt card (trimmed or otherwise) in the holder. With the genuine flip, and no snow on the edges of the holder, a guy could work this scam for a long time before anyone caught up to him.
  • What suprises me is that he has sold a ton of those "graded" cards and is probably making some serious money in the process $5 - $20+ a pop.......I am looking forward to seeing how he replies to Aknot regarding his inquiry about the grading company. Geez, think you have seen it all then.....

The "putz" is also panning off playing cards as trading cards. Or has in the past.
