SUBMISSIONS: When does the clock start?

Hello,

I've been reading all the threads about how long it's been taking PSA to log in submissions after they receive them, and I'm just curious...

Does the clock start on the day they receive the shipment, or when they happen to log it in to the system?

Please tell me it's the former, as I don't want to think about all the shenanigans that could go on regarding meeting turnaround times if it's the latter.

    It's the latter.

In my case, my postal delivery tracking says 3/4/04

...but the package does not logged in until 3/15/04. Unfortunately, 3/15/04 is when I start counting my forty-five business days. Still no word.
  • I also read that for specials and free submissions, those don't qualify for the guarantee

I recently submitted on the 5 day / $10 a card special and got exactly what was advertised. Cards logged in on a Friday (sent either on tuesday or wednesday) and grades available exactly 5 days later. Cards also shipped back to me a few days after that. It was only a 20 card submission, so it's not the largest order, but I got the exact turnaround.

I have fount that 99% of the time , if you mark 5 day special on the box, they will get it logged the day received or the next without issue. the orders with long turnaround times are usually the ones that the entry gets delayed

In my case I sent overnight on 3/29. They received on 3/30. Box was marked for 5 day service, was not entered until 4/7. The status page says the grades were available on the 9th, but they werent. They weren't available until 4/13. Which was still within the 5 day timeframe of them being entered, but it wasn't the 9th like they put. They also have them shipping on the 16th. It's now the 20th and I still don't have them. I guess CA -> MN is a long way for registered mail.
