Questions about my Collectors Club renewal

seanqseanq Posts: 8,645 ✭✭✭✭✭
I received my renewal notice in the mail over the weekend, and I'm trying to weigh the Gold Level against the Gold Upgrade. It seems the only real added benefit of the higher cost membership is four service upgrades. Can anyone tell me if the free submissions can be for error coins, or if the upgrades can be used to go pay economy prices for mint error service? Also, what level membership do you need to take advantage of the quarterly free submission?

Thanks in advance,

Sean Reynolds

Gold or platinum level gets the quarterly free submission.

I'm thinking about going with the gold upgrade myself. It seems like a fair deal. As far as your question, you should call customer service. If you are going to use the upgrade from economy to regular, I think it's pretty good.

I have sent in an error coin, a modern gold coin, and 2 others as my 4 freebies one time. No one said anything to me. They all came back slabbed with no nasty-gram. To answer your question, I'm sure that you can send in just about anything for your 4 freebies as long as they are all submitted at the same.

The upgrades certificates only work from Econ. to Reg, Reg to Express Special, etc.
If you are primarily using the Mint Error service I don't think that the upgrade program will meet your needs.
You can submit 4 Minter error coins for your 4 free. Please be sure to write mint error at the top of the form as these forms are not designed to let you choose a service level and by doing so will avoid any additional delays.

Actually, I've been submitting all sorts of coins, so the upgrade may be perfect - I can submit errors for my four freebies, and then upgrade four additional standard submissions. Thanks a bunch, Carol!
