  • Yes, it is. The question I always ask myself is "Was it missed or tolerated"? I can defend the grader in both cases, but it doesn't make it a card I'd like to own. Quite frankly, that centering doesn't exactly SCREAM "9", either. I think I'd be more tolerant if the rest of the card is all there. The stain becomes pretty forgiveable. When you've got borderline centering AND a stain--you've got a "dog".

Didn't I read somewhere on these boards something about PSA cert #s that start with "1"?

  • No, I dont think that its on the scanner.

The stain appears to me to be on the card.

That card sure looks like a PSA- 8 or at best a PSA-9 with a ST qualifier.

This is the thing that bugs me the most about PSA........their grades have been all over the place lately.

I think it was Forrest Gump who once said " submitting cards for grading is like a box of candy, cause you never know what your'e gonna get" or something like that.

    ....................Just my two cents.

That definately looks like they missed that. Those stains come a lot from vending for some reason. I've submitted a few in the past with smaller stains than that and they ALWAYS come back an 8 or lower, so I don't submit cards with that stain anymore. That stain is not tolerated for 9's, so they either missed it or didn't train a new grader properly.
  • And they missed the big red arrow, too. image
